The West Wing at The Mill House, East Linton, is set in one of the most impressive conservation areas of East Lothian.

This delightful secluded property is only half a mile outside the pretty village of East Linton, which has a small supermarket (open 7 days a week), post office, pub, chemist, baker, delicatessen, newsagent and award-winning butcher.

Kingfishers on riverbank

The West Wing is just a short stroll from the picturesque Tyne riverbank which teems with wildlife. Here you may be fortunate enough to see kingfishers, dippers and otters.

Over 200 years old, the house was originally a miller’s house attached to one of a string of 18th century mills along the river, one of which, the nearby Preston Mill, much loved by artists, has been restored and is open to the public.

The whole area offers miles of quiet beaches, several historic castles, and the Museum of Flight where Concorde is now on display. Nearby North Berwick houses the Scottish Seabird Centre and from here boat trips can be taken round the Bass Rock to view its huge colony of gannets. For golfers, there are several world class courses to try out, while Edinburgh is within easy driving distance for a day’s culture and shopping.
